City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring
Regulations Course in London

London Based City & Guilds (2382-18) 18th Edition Assessments and Courses

This Level 3 18th edition course is a new course which will replace 17th edition course from July 2018 onward. After 31st December 2018 all electrical installations are to comply with BS 7671:2018.

This City and Guilds Level 3 (18th edition) Requirements for Electrical Installations (2383) qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations.

Rest assured GB Construction Training will only deliver a course once the details have been finalised by the IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology) and there is a formal qualification available via the accrediting body - City & Guilds.

What does the Level 3 18th edition qualification cover?

The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. They set requirements and operating criteria for the UK and correspond to EC standards and are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS 7671). It is intended to ensure that individuals are conversant with the format, content and application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. As a general rule candidates should have knowledge of electrical installation and electrical science.

The course is primarily aimed at practicing electricians and domestic installers, however it is also very popular with allied professionals such as contracts managers, designers, electrical engineers, consultants, surveyors, and other related trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IEE Wiring Regulations. All candidates must be over 16 years old.

What does the Level 3 18th edition course consist of?

We predict that the course will last 3 days and is all theoretical learning in a classroom. We assume that there are 9 units to study, 8 relate to the parts and 1 to the appendices of the BS7671 IET regulations. You will be assessed by an open book online exam in our training centre.

You are required to purchase a copy of the Blue version of the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018 before attending the course.

You will take a 2 hour online multiple choice exam on the third day of this course. You will be able to take your blue 18th Edition Regulations book (BS 7671) into the exam with you and refer to it if need be. The timing of the exam means that you will have on average 2 minutes per question so a good overall knowledge of the 18th Edition regs plus a thorough understanding of the book is a must.

Please note that you must bring photographic ID such as passport or driving license with you in order to sit the assessment on this course
